A Diverse Staff
At Overland Park Convention Center, we value having a team that reflects the diverse backgrounds of the guests we serve. A wide range of perspectives helps us better anticipate and meet the needs of all attendees.
We work to hire team members who understand the needs and perspectives of the many unique people who walk through our doors.
To better serve our diverse clientele, several of our team members are fluent in Spanish. This helps ensure smooth communication with Spanish-speaking guests and event planners, making their experience as seamless as possible.
We’ve also trained our staff to accommodate the needs of guests with sensory issues. No matter the guest, everyone is welcome at the Overland Park Convention Center.
Taking Feedback
Constructive feedback is an important part of growing as a business, so we’re always looking to hear from our clients and guests. We continuously seek ways to enhance the guest experience. If you have suggestions about accessibility or accommodations, we welcome your feedback.
We worked with KultureCity, a nonprofit for accessibility in event venues, to improve our space and make it more inclusive. Based on their advice, we added a sensory room to OPCC. A sensory room offers a place for guests who struggle with conditions like PTSD and autism to go if they’re feeling overstimulated or anxious during an event.
Our dedication to guest experience has been recognized by industry-leading publications like EXHIBITOR Magazine, and we continue to look for ways to enhance our services.
