CURA Café: Coffee Without the Detour
When agendas are tight, leaving the venue for specialty drinks isn’t always practical. While most morning meetings already include coffee service, CURA Café gives attendees a place to grab lattes, matcha, and other café-style drinks without leaving Overland Park Convention Center. Our Exhibition Hall spans about 60,000 sq. ft. with 30-foot ceilings, a column-free floor, and 8 loading docks, plus two drive-in ramps that streamline move-in for vendors and larger installs.
For conferences and receptions, our 25,000 sq. ft. divisible ballroom pairs with 14,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space, giving you a natural footprint for registration, sponsor tables, and attendee transitions.
Need breakout conference rooms that stay close to the action? Our Courtyard level includes seven breakout rooms with 13,000 sq. ft. of pre-function, and the Outdoor Courtyard (about 25,000 sq. ft.) creates an easy option for open-air receptions and evening networking.

Overland Park Convention Center’s culinary program is led by Executive Chef David Ruiz, appointed in August 2024, with 20+ years of experience and recognition that includes a James Beard Foundation competition win.

If you’re planning a banquet or gala, Chef Ruiz is known for hands-on menu development, including tastings, and a commitment to locally sourcing ingredients. Overland Park Convention Center builds guest confidence with operational standards. We’ve achieved GBAC STAR Facility accreditation, focused on outbreak prevention, response, and recovery—backed by trained staff and documented protocols.
We also support sensory-inclusive events with a KultureCity-approved sensory room, located at the Exhibition Hall A entrance on the upper level, giving attendees a calm reset space when they need it. On the production side, in-house AV and technical support make it easier to run multi-session agendas within our event spaces in Overland Park.
