Makayla Rice is a Sales Manager at the Overland Park Convention Center. Continuing her journey in the hospitality industry as a guest service representative, Makayla has since held various positions that have continually fueled her passion for the field. In 2024, she became a valuable addition to the convention center team.

While Makayla pursued a degree in Hospitality Management at Kansas State University, she excelled as a Hotel Front Office Supervisor and was honored with the Employee of the Quarter award. In her subsequent role as Front Office Manager, she led her team to a position among the top ten in guest service scores for the company. Additionally, Makayla holds a certificate in Hospitality Management from Florida Atlantic University and is planning to work towards obtaining her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in the near future.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Makayla finds joy in cheering for her favorite football teams, the KC Chiefs and Kansas State Wildcats, alongside her husband Sam, whom she married in September of 2023. In her leisure time, she appreciates the outdoors with her dog Roofus or indulges in the simple pleasure of curling up with a good book, often with her cat Ahsoka on her lap.
