Luis Izurieta is the Senior Banquet Manager at the Overland Park Convention Center (OPCC). He has been with the convention center since 2014, previously holding roles as Banquet Manager and Bar Supervisor. 

Born and raised in Kansas City, Luis embarked on a journey in the food and beverage industry at a young age. Starting from a serving role, he demonstrated exceptional dedication and quickly ascended to the position of bar supervisor at OPCC. Luis managed this department while also dedicating time to overseeing warehouse operations at both Chiefs and Royals stadiums.

Luis was offered the chance to lead the banquet bar department at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Here, he not only expanded his knowledge of the events industry but also honed his managerial skills in a refined dining setting, catering to a broader clientele.

After two successful years in this role, Luis’ passion drew him back to OPCC in 2018 where he was offered the role of Banquet Manager. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he next took on the role of Senior Banquet Manager, exhibiting remarkable adaptability and leadership during challenging times at the convention center.
