Ashley Flagler, CMP is the Director of Events at the Overland Park Convention Center (OPCC), assuming overall management responsibility for all facility events. She directs, coordinates and oversees the activities of employees in the Events, Audio Visual and Event Services departments. She has been with the convention center since 2016, where she started as an Event Manager. 

Ashley first began her career in the hospitality industry in 2008, previously holding the roles of Meeting & Sales Coordinator for the International Association of Plastics Distribution, and as an Event Marketing Specialist/Event Marketing Manager for Lexmark Enterprise Software.

Ashley achieved the acclaimed Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from the Events Industry Council (EIC) in 2016. This distinguished credential, recognized throughout the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry, demonstrates an individual’s comprehensive knowledge of meeting management as well as a commitment to the profession.

In 2022, she earned her Sustainable Event Professional Certification (SEPC) from the EIC, taking the lead in spearheading the convention center’s sustainability efforts. Additionally, she leads the charge in maintaining the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) accreditation for the facility, implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfecting of infectious diseases. 

Throughout her career, she has also been an active member of KCSAE, PCMA, MPI and IAVM. In her free-time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her twins and being outside as much as possible.
