First-of-Its-Kind Sensory Support & Inclusion
The Overland Park Convention Center is proud to be the first convention center in the world to offer a KultureCity-certified Sensory Room—a dedicated, medically designed space that provides a calming environment for guests with sensory sensitivities, including individuals with autism, PTSD, ADHD, dementia, and other similar conditions.
As a Sensory Inclusive Certified venue, OPCC has partnered with KultureCity to ensure all staff are trained by medical professionals to recognize and support neurodiverse and disabled attendees. This ongoing commitment helps create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for every guest.
SETTING THE STANDARD FOR SAFETY
The Overland Park Convention Center was selected as one of two pilot venues used to review and assess best practices and safety guidelines developed by the live events industry in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security. The best practices were created to protect the millions of people who work, exhibit, and attend meetings, conventions, and trade shows each day.

Industry-leading Commitment to Health & Safety
Overland Park is the second convention center in the world to achieve the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ Facility accreditation, the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response, and recovery accreditation for facilities.
Under the guidance of GBAC’s scientific advisory board, the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention are implemented within the facility.
Following a risk assessment, the program establishes mitigation strategies through the use of scientifically approved protocols, equipment, chemicals, and training, which are continually measured, audited, and improved, to ensure a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program verifies that Overland Park Convention Center implements best practices to prepare for, respond to, and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

The Overland Park Convention Center is pleased to announced the OPCC Exhibition Advantage, a full-service program designed to show appreciation, reduce costs and elevate the show experience for convention and trade show producers, general service contractors and exhibitors.

The Overland Park Convention Center has also become an industry leader in Wi-Fi performance and connectivity, all at no cost to exhibitors and guests. With one of the fastest Wi-Fi systems in the industry, backed by a 10GB infrastructure and redundant fiber internet services, exhibitors and attendees are only limited by the capacity of their devices.
