Amy Worden is a Sales Manager at the Overland Park Convention Center (OPCC). She joined the team in 2002 coinciding with the venue opening. With over 21 years of convention sales expertise, she has devoted her career to the meetings and events industry.

Currently, she serves as the Vice President of Finance on the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Kansas City Board of Directors, a position she has held since 2018, following roles as Vice President of Education and Director of Monthly Programs. Recognized with the Heart of MPI award, Amy’s unwavering passion for the industry and association resonates both locally and nationally.

Amy’s accomplishments and awards include Supplier Member of the Year from MPI Kansas City Chapter in 2018, as well as being a Leadership Overland Park Graduate in 2010. She also received the General Manager award from OPCC in 2017.

A native of New Albany, Indiana, which she typically refers to Louisville, Amy is an Indiana University alumna. There, she pursued a degree in Business with a minor in Marketing, all while actively participating in tennis.

Beyond her professional commitments, Amy chairs the auction for the Weatherby Lake Yacht Club Progressive Dinner Fundraiser and actively participates in the MPI Kansas City mentorship program. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, lake time, shopping, supporting her kids in sports, and cherishing moments with family and friends. 

Amy could be considered the convention center’s resident detective, as her favorite pastime involves diving into the newest true crime podcasts and the latest documentaries.
